Instructions

As I am cooking dinner this evening I am watching my two youngest play. It's raining outside so they can't play outside, but are obviously looking for ways to be "active" inside.

This progresses until Isaac decides to give Nicole lessons in gymnastics, specifically how to do a forward roll. He cleans off the couch, makes sure they is nothing on the floor that they might accidentally hit. Isaac then proceeds to carefully demonstrate to his less than observant 2 year old sister the correct positioning.

"Bend your knees like this. Then tuck your head, Nicole are you watching me?" He then proceeds to do a somersault across the couch. Nicole climbs up and tucks her legs like her brother did and then proceeds to just jump straight forward onto the other end of the couch.
"No, Nicole! You have to tuck your head to and then roll, not jump. Here watch me." This basically repeats itself quite a few times, with interspersed conversation from Isaac as to what Nicole is doing incorrectly and how to correct it. Isaac finally emphatically states to Nicole, "I'm trying to help you learn so that when you take gymnastics you can be the best in your class! Now watch me do it again. See how I tuck my head?" . . .
