Trees

It always amazes me how spring and new life can just lift the spirit.

Yesterday and the day before were one of those crazy, over packed, can anything else go wrong kind of days. But one thing just so lifted my mood and made it all seem ok--we got 2 trees planted in the backyard. Now they are nothing impressive yet (although I think they look perfect). But just gazing out the window and seeing these trees just budding out, reaching gracefully towards the sky and the sunshine lifts my spirit. Reminds me that life is beautiful, and that God uses the "winter" days to bring new life and beauty in the spring.

The kids are excited about them too, "wow, we have trees now Mom!" (we do have a huge blue spruce back there too, but they forget about that). Now they are clamoring for us to plant some fruit trees. . . one project at a time.
