Bonds

My parents are visiting for Spring Break this week. We are just thrilled to have them here. They arrived late on Friday night so Nicole and Isaac were already in bed when they got here. Saturday morning when Nicole woke up it was Mormor (my mom) who went in to get her up. She was just thrilled to her core. I had been unsure what her reaction would be since she hadn't seen Mormor since last summer when she was 18months old. But I needn't of worried as she was so excited to see her Mormor.

Nicole quickly drug Mormor downstairs with her and insisted the she sit next to her while they watched cartoons with Isaac and Skye. It was so much fun for me to watch them sitting there. Nicole kept trying to scrunch closer to Mormor. While she would tear her eyes away from Mormor for brief moments to check out the action on the TV she would quickly look back to watch Mormor again. She just had this glow in her eyes.

It was only a few minutes before she just couldn't contain herself any longer. She threw her arms around Mormor for a big hug. She then settled into to watch the TV again, but kept stealing longer and longer looks up at Mormor, when Nicole again just couldn't contain herself any longer and had to give Mormor a big hug. This routine was repeated over and over again as they sat there. Nicole's excitement and adoration mounting until she just had to have another hug which would pacify for a moment until you could see it mounting again and she'd just have to have another hug.

There's just something about grandparents that makes us yearn for those hugs.
