Oops

I spent the first part of my morning running around frustrated. It is a typical morning for us when Skye can't find his shoes, jacket, hat, gloves, etc. and is ready to walk out the door without having brushed his hair or teeth and just looks at me with that bewildered look as frantically try to find his stuff and get him out the door before he misses the bus. This morning it just felt like too much and I know I overreacted. It wasn't a good start to the day or week and after he finally did make it on the bus (with a new pair of shoes as we never did locate his normal shoes, and he had no gloves today either) I felt badly for how frustrated I was. But yet I still sat there planning on what I could possibly say or do when Skye got home to help him remember to put things where they belong so we can find them, etc.
Fast froward a couple of hours to me getting home from Target with groceries and some Easter goodies for the kid's baskets this weekend, I went to put them away and discovered I couldn't find the Easter eggs/candy that I had bought a couple of weeks ago. I have now searched the whole house, and can't figure out where I might have put them. So now I'm feeling sheepish as I remember my responses to Skye this morning when he didn't know where his things were. So now I need to doubly apologize to him this afternoon, see even Mommy has the same mistakes and we can work on it together.

Ahhh, I know that feeling well, unfortunately. I hate sending Katie off to school after I've just yelled at her...it makes me sad. Anyway, I can relate and it's a good reminder for me to help the kids know where they are putting things so we can have stress-free mornings! I hope you find your stuff!
