Showers of Fun. . .

The kids and I flew out to Seattle on Saturday. What a crazy day that was, but the kids did really well with it all and it was the best flying experience I've had since entering parenthood. I also think that I will forever fly frontier now-individual TVs at every seat with 24 channels to choose from, and more leg room than I've seen in quite awhile, it made traveling with kids much easier! We did have a brisk jog to make our connecting flight in Denver, but we made it and it got the energy out before the second flight.
Sunday we held a bridal shower for Carrie. I think it turned out really well, and I hope that she enjoyed it. It was fun to meet her friends, hear those who really care about her share their thoughts and laughs, etc. Vanessa did an amazing job on the food and decorating, and thank goodness we have one extrovert in the family to keep the conversations going.
We played one of those silly shower games. Everyone was asked to make a list of 24 things that Carrie will pack for her honeymoon, and see how close they could get to the list that Carrie made. We learned new priorities about Carrie when bacon topped her list, and snowshoes was on it but not any pants or shirts.
We all enjoyed the chocolate fountain, even if it wasn't doing the proper fountain thing, it was delicious. Everyone shared a bit of wisdom/advice/prayer for Carrie and then also said a characteristic that she brings to the marriage to "light" it up. I think it was a nice sharing time and I hope that it meant a lot to Carrie. She has so many wonderful characteristics, and she and Greg have been so good at setting up communication with each other and building their relationship that I know that they are going to do well.
It was so neat to see my baby sister just glowing with pleasure and excitement, I'm so happy for her.
