End of Summer

Today was the official end of summer. . . Skye had his first day of second grade today. He was so excited to go in and be a big second grader! We all went in to school last night to meet his teacher and see his classroom. His teacher this year seems to be the opposite of his teacher from last year. She was short and plump, and gave off a wonderfully, warm "mother hen" type of personality. I felt sick all day yesterday just anticipating Skye going back to school. But once I met his teacher I felt so much better about it all. (Thank you Lord!)
Skye came home from school today feeling so proud. He rushed to tell me about recess and lunch (the most important times of the day), and with some prodding told me about his classroom and work as well. Then he was quickly off to play with his little brother who had been missing him all day today. Skye has grown a lot this summer (and not just in height), he seems so much different from the 1st grader of last year. I hope that this year builds him up and is a special one for him!
